A tail lift is a mechanical device permanently fitted to the back of a delivery vehicle.
A tail lift is commonly used to lift heavy items on and off delivery trucks when a forklift is not available, as such this is a special service which couriers charge additional fees for.
The tail lift service is only applicable to properties on the ground level. It is the buyer's responsibility to bring the goods inside of the premises.
Tail lift might also be unavailable under certain conditions:
- Properties in certain rural areas.
- Properties with steep or unusual driveways that could cause safety issues with tail lift unloading.
- Properties on extremely narrow street fronts.
- Any objects that exceed 2.2 metres in length
